Course outline

The Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science provides students with the skills and knowledge to improve the health, performance and participation of individuals, teams and athletes. Within this course students will be exposed to the principles and evidence-based research of human movement, and learn how to apply this to both the improvement of sports performance, and within the broader community in the healthcare system. Meeting the professional membership requirements of ESSA, this program provides graduates with a thorough grounding in the scientific bases of exercise and of key principles, concepts and theories related to exercise for health and sports performance. Graduates will gain skills such as leadership, advanced problem-solving, technical proficiency, the capacity to communicate effectively, an ability to be reflective and ethical in their practice, underpinned by justice, equity and respect for the individual. Opportunities for industry-relevant experience are embedded in the course through community engagement and practicum. Note

This course is currently undergoing re-accreditation by Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) at the exercise science level for Strathfield, Melbourne and Brisbane campuses. Graduates may also be eligible to apply for Level 1 accreditation with the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA).
