Course outline

Occupational therapists help people of all ages overcome barriers that affect their ability to engage in the everyday activities that are meaningful and important to them. They use a range of intervention strategies designed to help each person’s ability, such as modifying the task or environment, developing their skills, and/or education. Through this program, students will gain a thorough understanding of the theory and practice of occupational therapy, including foundation knowledge from the anatomical, physiological, social behavioural, and psychological sciences. Students gain practical experience from their first year in a variety of community and healthcare settings, in on-site clinics and placements with external partners throughtout Queensland. Other requirements

On admission, the following requirements must be met: first aid certificate (including CPR); Blue Card; current status information with respect to blood-borne transmissible viruses and tuberculosis (TB); and a schedule of immunisations.
